5 natural beauty tips to create glowing skin...
Just because we're getting older doesn't mean we have to give up on our appearance. Taking care of our skin is more important than ever. But with so many products on the market, it can be hard to know where to start. That's why I've compiled a list of my top five natural beauty secrets that will help you look after your skin, without breaking the bank.
1. Oil-based moisturising
One of the best things you can do for your skin is to ditch the harsh chemicals and switch to an oil-based moisturising routine. That's right, oil! I know it sounds counterintuitive, but using oil to moisturise your face will help to balance your skin's natural oil production and leave your complexion looking radiant and healthy. All you need to do is massage a small amount of oil (I like almond or hemp) into your dry skin for a few minutes. This simple routine will help improve the hydration of your skin and improve the look of your skin. So, you too can ditch the fake tan and makeup.
2. Exfoliate
Exfoliation is key for achieving smooth, glowing skin. Dead skin cells can build up on the surface, causing it to look dull and lifeless. By exfoliating regularly, you'll help to remove those dead skin cells and reveal healthy, radiant skin underneath. There are plenty of ways to exfoliate, but my personal favourite is using our coffee scrub. Simply rub it all in, using a circular motion in the shower, taking extra care of your face. Rinse with warm water and voila! Soft, smooth skin. Even better get someone to do it for you.
3. Drink Plenty of Water
This one might seem like a no-brainer, but drinking plenty of water is essential for healthy-looking skin. Water helps to flush toxins out of the body and keeps your skin cells hydrated, which helps to prevent premature aging. So make sure you're drinking up to eight glasses of water a day! Stay away from drinking tap water, invest in a good water filter if you can.
4. Get Your Beauty Sleep
Getting enough sleep is crucial for both our physical and mental health—and that includes the health of our skin. When we don't get enough sleep, it shows in the form of dark circles under our eyes and a lacklustre complexion. To help ensure you're getting enough shut-eye, establish a nighttime routine that includes winding down for 30 minutes before bedtime and disconnecting from electronics screens at least an hour before hitting the hay. Trust me, your skin will thank you!
5. Eat Healthy Foods
What we put into our bodies shows up on our skins—that's just a fact. If we eat processed foods that are high in sugar and salt, it's going to show in the form of breakouts and dull-looking skin. Conversely, if we eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables (think: leafy greens, berries, tomatoes), our skin will reflect that by looking clearer and more radiant. So next time you're tempted by those unhealthy snacks, think about how they'll impact your complexion—and reach for an apple instead! Remember; “there is no such thing as a perfect diet”
Following these five tips will help you achieve healthy-looking skin that feels great too! And the best part is that they're all natural—so you can feel good about taking care of yourself in a way that benefits both your appearance and your overall health.
